英國雜誌TimeOut請業界人士選出了英國百大經典電影The 100 best British films。提供了一個方便掌握英國電影精華的途徑。今年年中台北電影節的國家主題即是英國，名單中的影片也會有不少選入，大家可以參考這份名單找自己有興趣的電影來看。
麥可鮑威爾Michael Powell就有7部，麥克李Mike Leigh有5部，希區考克Alfred Hitchcock有4部，大衛‧連David Lean有4部，史丹利庫柏力克Stanley Kubrick有3部，肯洛區Ken Loach有2部，丹尼鮑伊Danny Boyle有2部。而像麥克李、肯洛區和丹尼鮑伊迄今仍創作不斷，真是影迷的福氣；希區考克選的片都較為冷門，看來是把驚魂記、電話謀殺案、鳥、後窗等經典歸於美國片了。
